This thread has had me thinking through the various books that Mona and I read when we were younger and then imagining all the scenes with the kids. Three or four children in Saffy's Angel? (Four, unfortunately.) Then I came to a book that I could only remember as: that family that moves out to the countryside and at one point the brother steps on a rake. I posed this question to my mom on the phone and she came up with the title within seconds: The Railway Children! The kids are Roberta, Peter and Phyllis and I remember listening to it on audio and loving the adventures that they get into as they navigate a new place. Lizzienoreply@blogger.com
